How much money will learning a
dance cost me?
-
The instructors of American
Ballroom Dance Institute are
able to create a dance
program that can fit any
budget. We believe that
dancing should be a source
of pleasure, not stress, so
we will do everything in our
power to make sure that it
fits into your budget
comfortably. Private
sessions range from $80-$90
per session and group
classes and parties range
from $10-$12 per class or

What if I don’t know what I want
to learn
-
Through some basic questions
your instructor will be able
to narrow down some common
partnership dances that will
be useful with your
lifestyle. You instructor
will set in up like a buffet
in that you will sample many
different dances and find
your own personal
preferences.
I
have two left feet
-
It is very common for
students to say they have
two left feet. Fortunately
if you can walk your
instructor can teach you to
dance. Your private lessons
will be at a pace that suits
you and your learning style.
I
have a busy schedule
-
In today’s world it is
difficult to find people who
aren’t busy which is why
American Ballroom Dance
Institute is prepared to do
whatever it takes to
accomadate your schedule.
ABDI is open Monday through
Friday from 12 pm until 8:45
pm and Saturday by
appointment only.
What do I wear
-
Clothing should be
comfortable to move in,
however it can be as dressy
or as casual as you want to
make it. Some students come
straight from work and don’t
have time to change before,
while others make this their
special date night and like
to dress up.
-
Shoes must have smooth soles
and be light weight, much
like a dress shoe. A heavey
shoe with a thick tread will
make it very difficult to
learn. It is also important
especially for the women
that you wear a shoe that
you can’t walk out of such
as a backless sandal.
Ballroom dancing shoes are
encouraged but not
mandatory.
-
Since ballroom dancing is a
close contact sport personal
hygiene is extremely
important. Men please
refrain from sleeveless
shirts. Woman we ask that
any time you wear a skirt or
dress you wear dance pants
underneath. Dance pants are
similar to bathing suit
bottoms and can be purchased
at any dance supply store.
And most importantly
remember deodorant and
breath mints!
